  I had a new HVAC installed 2 years ago. I was told that one of the ducts had been disconnected probably by some other service company that had been in my attic. It appeared as if someone had fallen onto it and never fixed it. So after thousands of dollars spent on a new system I still had air flow issues.
  The 2 vents farthest away just had no flow. I had them check it again. They said it was the way the addition was set up dovetailing off the existing unit. The only way to fix that would be to add new ducts at the cost of $900. But that is not the kicker.....
  I had a bid from another company today. I saw pictures of my ducts. They are ALL SMASHED. One of them is even twisted! So if I am paying a company thousands of dollars to install a hew HVAC unit don't you think they should inform me that there are issues with the ducts? Maybe advise me to fix or replace them? The twisted one is even one that they HAD to see as it is on the HVAC! C'mon! REALLY????!!!
  My advice....Get a bid from anyone else before you commit to the Royal treatment.
